Portraits : Most of the cats pictured in this gallery started their lives as feral kittens in our rural neighborhood. Since moving here in August of 2006 we have befriended these adorable creatures, taunting them into tameness with treats, toys and lots of love. There are cats from six different litters (born between April 2006 and April 2008) as well as the mother cats, Mercy and Snow, and a father cat Grizzy. Mercy is now 'fixed', so no more litters from her! Snow is proving harder to catch... As the kittens come of age I get them 'fixed' as well, in my own feeble effort to keep the stray cat population down. I also have gotten help from the Socorro Animal Protection Society and The Arc of Socorro Veterinary Clinic, which I am very grateful for. I photograph the cats in their natural environment (our yard) and with natural light -- no studio shots here! I hope you enjoy the images of these adorable cats and kittens, fondly dubbed "The Kat Farm Kittens". Please keep in mind, all proceeds from the sale of prints and merchandise go directly into the care and feeding of these wonderful feline family members!

A Day In The Life : These 30 days of cat images were inspired by a photography challenge put on by a wonderful group of photographers from the web site DPChallenge.com. The challenge was to share a slice of your life by taking and posting a picture each day in the month of October 2007. Since all of these cats are a big slice of my life, I decided to focus on them. Through this wonderful exercise, as well as the support of a great group of folks at DPC, I developed a new way of looking at and capturing images of my amazing cats.

Reel Classic Cats : Inspired by the dreamy photos of movies stars from days gone by, I created this series of similarly processed images for a calendar. Reel Classic Cats

Characters from movies, characters from songs, and just the characters of the kats themselves :-) And stay tuned, this is an ongoing project in which the images will soon be available in many formats including calendars, books, greeting cards, and other items.
